Today as i was walking home with Ah B after we had dinner at Central with e BFGcians, we were talkin bout how time flies n we're finishin our yr1 of Uni life soon....
In no time i'll probably have to wear mi most dreaded formal wear everyday...and Ah B have to stop slacking and strive to carve a niche for himself in his pirated VCD business( anyway i'll definetly support! tell mi when's ya shop officially opening, mi'll send flowers over! )...wahaha....
So i was saying we could start buying TOTO from now onwards, win one BIG one en we'll have no worries bout having to work anymore....wahaha.....
en this led on to us talkin bout e fates of e ppl who really struck lottery in real life...
Ah B was saying in US ere was a show documenting bout e life o many lottery winners and many had ill fate bestowed upon them...one story was bout an old Grandpa who struck lottery en thereafter his grand-daughter was kidnapped for ransom...the ransom was paid by e Grandpa by still the grand-daughter was "ticket-torn" by e kidnappers....
all the other ill fates didn't deviate far from e path of broken families or ppl dying....
so came mi conclusion...maybe striking e lottery is not too good a thing also, if ya win money through such means, you shld donate some o em to charity to do some gd with ya new found wealth...
en Ah B also commented one thing about money...it is something so powerful that it can change a person, imagine u suddenly struck 1 billion worth of lottery; u'll start to be afraid of alot o things, kidnappers, ppl borrowing $ from ya, ppl becoming close to you with ulterior motive....you'll start being wary of uor surroundings....maybe u'll end up being a less happy man than you r now??
i was thinkin bout how i might change, en i said i would still like to live in mi gd old HDB house...but could this be unreliastic? e comfort n attachment i feel for mi house cannot be compared to a billion worth of money?!?! (maybe it could though...wahahah...)
what if it happened to you??? if u suddenly struck US 1 Billion dollars....what would you do with e money?? do u think u'll change?? will what u treasure most in live now( friendship, love, family...) ever have e same meaning to such a wealthy you??
